CARBARN | Lotus Esprit (2012) | The Esprit nameplate will return to an all-new Lotus vehicle that will be based on a wider, longer version of the Evora’s architecture.
Taking clear styling cues from both the Evora and the the Elise/Exige, the new Esprit brings plenty of exotic flair to the premium sports car segment. Its steeply raked windscreen and sharp, aggressive nose leave little doubt as to the Esprit’s racy intentions. The upcoming Esprit, like the last iteration of its predecessor, is slated to use a mid-mounted V-8 engine.
Meanwhile, the Elise, Exige, and Evora would continue to be sold alongside the Esprit the Evora will even get a convertible variant that is slated to make its debut slightly ahead of its bigger brother.
